Back to stories two
During my Junior year of high school, I was preoccupied with concerns at home. To make matters worse, I had not
studied for a Social Studies examination. Fortunately, it was a True or False test. Thus, within seconds I answered
“True” to every question. Our teacher, Mr. Stearns, told us when we finished the test to rest our heads face down on our desks. So, I placed my head down on my desk. He came to my desk and told me no one could finish the test as quickly as I did. He then said that I should review my responses. I told him that I was satisfied with my answers. When Mr. Stearns finished grading the tests, he returned the test to each student. I was the last student on his list. He asked me why I answered all the questions with a “True” response. I told him that he always pressed knowing the truth, so I figured the odds were in my favor by choosing “True” responses. He then gave me my test results. Only one option was “False.” He said: “I will never do this again.” My response was: “Neither will I!” |
