The African King

Back to stories two
Once upon a time there was an African king that ruled a small African country.

After many years of unsatisfactory ruling, the people finally revolted and he was overthrown.

He was allowed to leave the country with his personal servant, and one sentimental item from his Palace. After much deliberation he finally decided to take his throne,he and his servant loaded their belongings onto donkeys and made their way out of the country.

After many weeks of travelling and looking for a suitable place to call home, they settled in a small clearing with nearby water and wildlife. They used whatever they could find to construct a small grass hut, but as the enormous throne took up too much space they manhandled it up into the rafters for safekeeping.

One night the king and his servant were sitting down relaxing when all of a sudden the throne broke through a rafter and fell on the king, killing him instantly.

And the moral of the story?

People who live in grass houses shouldn't stow thrones.
